Barclays launches mobile banking

Friday, 25 May 2007 12:06
Barclays is launching a free mobile banking service allowing customers to access their Barclays Online Banking service with web-enabled mobile phone.

The "Barclays.mobi" service gives Barclays personal customers access to web pages specially designed to be viewed on mobile phones.

"Barclays is constantly working to make the most of new technology and the opportunities it offers for accessing banking services," said Sean Gilchrist, Barclays director for electronic banking.

"These days most of us are never far from our mobile phones and this new service means that we are now never far from our bank account either."

Barclays Mobile Banking will be available to customers who are registered with Barclays Online Banking and have a web-enabled mobile phone. Barclays recommends using Opera Mini or Opera Mobile browsers.
