Co-op's pick n mix current account

Wednesday, 15 Oct 2008 12:04
Insurance cover for gadgets and discounts on airport membership schemes are among the features of two new current accounts.

The Co-operative Bank has just unveiled its first pick n mix packaged current accounts which offer customers added benefits to suit their personal needs.

The accounts, known as the Privilege and Privilege Premier current accounts, could save customers over £700 annually, according to the bank. However, customers should really look at whether they really need and will use the benefits before signing up.

When opening the account they can choose one of three special benefits including insurance cover for gadgets such as MP3s, cameras and SatNavs.

Customers could also choose cover against ID theft and resolution package, which includes key recover and handbag and contents insurance.

Or they could opt for four free airport lounge passes each year, annual angel membership and a passport and luggage recover service.

The accounts also include comprehensive family travel insurance, mobile phone insurance among other standard benefits.

Dick Parkhouse, managing director of retail at the bank said: "Until now, packaged accounts have been one-size-fits-all for customers.

"However, our new offering moves current accounts onto a new level allowing customers to tailor benefits to their lifestyle."
