Lloyds TSB launches 2007 student account

Friday, 22 Jun 2007 14:39
Lloyds TSB has unveiled its 2007 student account, including a free £75 in cash, mobile phone insurance and an NUS Extra card.

The student account also offers a £1,500 interest-free overdraft and the option to apply for a Lloyds TSB Student Mastercard.

"Starting at university is an exciting time but for many it is also the first time students have had to think about managing their own money," said Caroline Brady, head of student accounts at Lloyds TSB.

"Selecting the right student account is essential and it is important to do a bit of careful research.

"This year we have focused on a mixture of benefits and special offers to suit everyone’s needs and, to help student’s manage their finances, we are offering a tiered, interest-free overdraft in the first year.

"This should help students set off on the right financial footing and avoid them over-spending at the beginning of term."

The Lloyds TSB student account also offers free YHA membership for a year, AA driving school buy-one-get-one-free driving lesson, and 35 free eMusic downloads.
