Nationwide offers i-Current accounts

Monday, 10 Dec 2007 17:31
Nationwide customers can now access their accounts on the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

The building society – one of the first lenders to offer online access to accounts – will now allow customers to keep up-to-date with their finances via their Apple gadgets.

Mik Hodsdon, Nationwide divisional director, said: "Our research shows 53 per cent of internet bank users bank online because of its convenience.

"Being able to manage your finances from your mobile phone or iPod couldn’t be easier, and as hardly any online banks are currently able to offer access through these devices, I am pleased to be able to tell our customers that they are able to get online straight away."

He added: "It’s always a good idea to check your accounts regularly and we are delighted to be able to offer our members greater access to do just that."

Using their iPod, customers will be able to pay bills, transfer cash between accounts, open internet-only products and check current account statements for the last 27 months.
