Direct Line offers all-in-one home insurance

Monday, 28 Jul 2008 12:53
Direct Line is launching a new home insurance policy offering a raft of different features in one basket.

The Direct Line Home Insurance Plus policy offers home buildings and contents, personal possessions such as handbags, sports equipment and credit cards, travel insurance, ID fraud assistance, home emergency and legal protection.

The insurer claims the grouping together of policies will ensure people are not having overlapping cover – such as baggage covered by travel insurance and contents insurance.

Andrew Lowe, head of home insurance at Direct Line, said: "When disaster strikes, it can be difficult to get everything back to normal quickly and conveniently.

"Having one policy that covers everything makes the process simpler, easier, and quicker.

"Our Home Insurance Plus helps you to save time and money, and if anything goes wrong you can have it all sorted in one call. We'll take care of the hassle and help you avoid further disruption to your life."

The insurance policy covers:

Home emergency cover (boiler breakdown, plumbing, electrical or security emergencies)
Travel Insurance
Mobile phone insurance
Special occasion contents increase (20% extra contents cover before and after weddings, births, etc)
Personal Possessions cover (handbags/briefcases, contents carried outside of home)
ID Fraud protection
Family Legal Protection
Sets and Pairs cover
