Tesco ups home insurance cover for Christmas

Wednesday, 28 Nov 2007 16:55
Tesco Personal Finance is increasing its insurance cover for policyholders over Christmas.

With presents packed under trees, the value of contents over Christmas swells so Tesco is now providing homeowners with ten per cent more protection.

Allan Burns, head of Tesco Home Insurance, said: "Over the Christmas period, when homes are full of gifts, it's sensible for consumers to make their houses as secure as possible.

"We aim to make it a less stressful time by increasing customers' cover at no extra charge."

The increased cover for sums insured runs from December 1st to January 15th.

After January 15th, customers are advised to increase the amount they are insured for – so any future claims are fully met by the insurer.
