Scarborough: New 6.30% ISA

Wednesday, 09 Jan 2008 15:05
The new Branch Notice ISA and Direct Notice ISA both stand at 6.3 per cent AER variable until March 2009, with the guarantee of staying at least 0.25 percentage points over the Bank of England base rate.

From April 2009 until March 2010 the ISAs will track the Bank base rate – currently 5.5 per cent.

The minimum opening balance on the accounts is £1,000 and transfers out and closures are permitted subject to 30 days' notice.

Dave Wormall, Scarborough head of group marketing, said: "As we are now three-quarters of the way through the current tax year, we felt this was a good time to remind people of the importance of maximising their tax free savings allowances.

"That's why, in line with our mutual commitment to offering long-term good value, we've launched these market-leading new accounts which combine the benefits of a great return and a guarantee that it will continue to pay 0.25 per cent above the Bank of England Base Rate, whatever happens."

Other ISAs available from Scarborough include the Mini Cash ISA at 4.75 per cent and the My Savings regular savings ISA at 6.50 per cent.
