Asda cuts petrol prices

Asda is cutting the price of petrol by 2p and diesel by 1p per litre.
The supermarket said the maximum any driver will have to pay for petrol at any of its forecourts is 102.9p per litre for unleaded or 107p for diesel.
And it has challenged other retailers to follow in its footsteps, hitting out at those who charged more than 107p per litre as inflating their profits at the motorist's expense.
David Miles, ASDA's commercial director, said: "Once again we have led the way in passing on the benefits of lower costs to our customers as quickly as possible.
"While others try to bamboozle drivers with money off vouchers and plastic points, we prefer to lower our prices."
It has cited tumbling cost prices and a weakening US dollar as the prompt for lowering the prices.
