Citizens Advice reports sharp rise in debt problems

The number of people seeking advice on debt issues rose by 24 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2009.

There was a sharp increase in the number of consumers seeking help with debt issues from Citizens Advice Bureaux in England and Wales during the last quarter of 2009, the charity has said.

British Gas profits 'should fuel price cuts'

Record profits for British Gas add weight to the case for energy suppliers to cuts prices, uSwitch.com has said.

Record-breaking annual profits of £595 million for British Gas only add to the "weight of evidence" for reductions in fuel prices, uSwitch.com has said.
