The Post Office has launched a new cash Isa for the 2012-13 tax year that is available online from Friday and pays interest of 3.01 per cent.

Alliance & Leicester (A&L) is offering a cash bonus to new customers who switch to its Premier current account.

Customers who have not had a current account with A&L, Santander, Cahoot or Cater Allen in the last three months are eligible for the £100 bonus.

The Premier current account comes with free annual travel insurance, an interest rate of 0.5 per cent and an interest-free overdraft for one year.

It is available to customers over the age of 21 who can pay in at least £500 every month.

Helen Bierton, head of current accounts for Santander's UK brands, says: "With the £100 cash bonus offer from A&L back, it is a great time to think about switching bank accounts."
