What to look for in a mobile phone contract

Tuesday, 12 October 2010 12:00

There are a vast number of price plans for mobile phones, so how can you be sure that you're getting a good deal on a contract?

When it comes to searching for mobile offers you will find that you can opt for a monthly contract, in which you pay a fixed amount of money each month.

By seeking out mobile offers for pay-monthly phones, you could find that you have an array of free or subsidised handsets to choose from, meaning you can get your hands on some of the latest phones.

However, before signing on the dotted line, you may want to consider a number of factors. One such area is the free call minutes, text messages and internet usage that you receive, so be sure to get a contract that matches how often you plan on using your phone, otherwise you will have to pay extra when you exceed these limits. If you send messages quite frequently, seeking out a tariff that offers a high number of inclusive texts could be a good idea.

You will also have to sign to a minimum contract, which can last 12, 18 or 24 months, so be sure to select the one which is right for you.

Instead of opting for a contract, you might want to go for a pay as you go deal, where you can top-up your phone with credit as and when you need to.

Whether you decide to opt for a pay as you go deal or monthly contract, taking the time to search for mobile offers can help to ensure that you are able to make the most of your money.
