ScottishPower has unveiled a new product that bundles energy, heating cover and energy-efficiency.

The online version of Platinum Fixed Energy January 2014 will cost consumers £1,211 a year on average.

It includes the organisation's Home Comfort Standard boiler cover, which is usually priced at £152.52, as well as a wireless electricity monitor that would normally sell for £30.

On top of this, customers will receive a 25 per cent discount on cavity wall insulation - worth around £75 - and fixed rates lasting until January 31st 2014.

Tom Lyon, energy expert at uSwitch.com, said the deal is "just the start of what we expect to be a series of packaged online plans".
