Talk Talk tops Ofcom complaints list for phone and broadband

Talk Talk has been revealed as the most complained about landline and broadband provider for the third quarter running, although the company has made improvements over that period, Ofcom has revealed.

In its latest telecoms complaints report, the regulator said it received 0.8 grievances per 1,000 Talk Talk landline customers between April and June.

This was the highest number of all providers, but lower than the figures of 1.16 in the fourth quarter of last year and 1.12 in the first three months of 2011.

In a statement issued by Talk Talk in response to Ofcom's findings, the service provider said: ‘It’s encouraging that Ofcom’s data demonstrates that, following the Tiscali integration, the service we offer our customers has significantly improved in the last quarter with the number of complaints as a percentage of customers dropping by over 50%."

Meanwhile, the least complained about landline provider over the period was Virgin Media, with 0.15 complaints per 1,000 customers.

In terms of broadband, Talk Talk again came bottom of the pile, with 0.58 grievances per 1,000 users, while Virgin Media was the best in this category too.

For mobile services, 3UK was the worst performer, ahead of T-Mobile and Orange.

The providers with the least complaints in this category were O2, Virgin and Vodafone.
