American Express launches home insurance
American Express has launched a home insurance product, offering buildings insurance, contents insurance or both.
The new American Express insurance service offers:
- New for old cover - replacing items damaged or stolen with a new replacement.
- Home emergency assistance - available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This covers call out charges, labour and parts up to £300. Central heating failure, lost keys, vermin problems and external glazing are covered and incidents normally attended within two hours.
- Family legal protection - £50,000 legal costs covered.
- Legal helpline for private legal problems.
Quotes become cheaper for customers with burglar or smoke alarms and people who are members of neighbourhood watch schemes.
Additionally, customers can save five per cent on the cost of American Express home insurance by purchasing the contents/building cover online at: www.americanexpress.co.uk/home
