Motorbike insurance

Motorbike insurance is a legal requirement for people riding a motorbike in the UK.
The legal minimum motorbike insurance covers third party damage - that is to say damage that the bike causes other people and their property.
Insurance can be taken out for a specific bike, or for the rider. If the policy is for the rider then it allows them to ride any bike up to a certain size.
Motorbike insurance premiums are set according to a number of factors such as the age of the rider, their job, where they live, past driving record, bike security, power and type of motorbike, and parking facilities at the home and work address.
Unlike car insurance, no-claims bonuses do not have as large an impact in motorbike insurance.
