Tesco: Winter home insurance discount

Tesco Home Insurance is to offer a 50 per cent discount on buildings and contents insurance premiums.

The offer covers new customers who get a quote by December 11th 2007, buy a policy within 90 days and covers only the first year's premiums.

Customers who buy contents or buildings separately will still get the 50 per cent discount.

Allan Burns, head of insurance at Tesco Personal Finance, said: "Our winter offer can help take the edge off the extra costs of running a home that winter brings."

The 50 per cent discount includes the existing introductory phone (30%) and online (35%) discounts plus an additional discount.

Tesco Car Insurance customers can also qualify for a further discount.
