Esure insures a peaceful Christmas

Esure is offering a 15 per cent increase in home contents insurance this December to guarantee its customers have peace-of-mind at Christmas.

It has launched the promotion in a bid to ensure people are not under-insured during the festive period - a time which traditionally sees an increase in the value of theft claims.

Esure said it was important, therefore, that homeowners had suitable contents cover for all their Christmas gifts and valuable items.

And it is reminding customers that, when buying presents and treats is sales, it was the replacement value of original price tag that was taken into account by insurers, not how much was actually paid.

Esure is offering the 15 per cent increase in contents cover between December 1st and January 15th in a bid to ensure homeowners were fully covered in the case of a burglary.

Mike Pickard, head of risk and underwriting at esure home insurance said: "Christmas gifts that you have bought for friends and family as well as presents that you've received can add up to a hefty sum.

"It's important you make sure you have ample contents cover, especially around this time of year when thefts tend to be more targeted and the value of burglaries are higher than any other season."
