Saga Insurance boosts Christmas cover

Friday, 28 November 2008 12:00

Saga is raising the level of cover on offer on its home and motor insurance cover during December.

The insurer is doubling personal belongings cover to £2,000 on its motor insurance policies in a bid to allow for the extra gifts being carried in the car in the run-up to Christmas.

And it is increasing home insurance contents cover by ten per cent to ensure the extra gifts in the home over the festive period are taken into account on policies.

Roger Ramsden, chief executive of Saga Services, said: "Despite it being the season of goodwill, there are some unscrupulous individuals out there willing to steal presents from the boots of cars or from under our Christmas trees.

"Saga Insurance has chosen to provide that extra level of cover at the time of year when people have more valuables in their cars and homes."
