Tuesday, 09 December 2008 05:48

A reader from Essex has not driven for two years, but wants to know if he can keep his no claims bonus.

Ian Durrell, myfinances.co.uk insurance expert from the Only Group, which includes onlyinsurance.com, tackles the issue.

Stephen from Chelmsford asks:

: Some insurance companies will not let me use my nine years no claims discount (NCD) because I have not driven for just over two years.

Is there a company that will allow me to keep my previous earned NCD with out having to start over again?

Ian replies:

Most companies will not allow NCD to be continued past two years of not driving.

However, Norwich Union may allow you to keep previous earned NCD.
