M&S Home Insurance covers Christmas gifts

M&S is reminding customers it offers unlimited cover on its home insurance policies, which means Christmas gifts are automatically covered during the festive season.

The insurer said while 75 per cent of UK households had home contents insurance, just nine per cent of policies provided unrestricted cover for items in the home.

And with crime statistics showing an increase in domestic burglaries during the winter months, M&S said it was essential people ensured they had comprehensive policies.

Judith Roberts, M&S Money Insurance Manager, said: "Christmas should be a fun time of year. By making sure you have adequate home insurance you can enjoy festivities in the knowledge the contents of your home are protected should the worst happen."

M&S Money Home Insurance requires confirmation of items which are valued at £4,000 or more only. It covers loss or damage to goods stored in outbuildings and sheds too.
