Nationwide is now offering car and travel insurance through its partnership with mutual insurer LV=.

Features of its new car insurance deal include a 75 per cent no claims discount, courtesy car included as standard on comprehensive and third party fire and theft policies and free European cover.

Comprehensive policies also include up to £200 cover for personal belongings. Drivers can also benefit from optional extras such as legal expenses cover and breakdown cover.

Meanwhile, the travel insurance policies include single trip cover for up to 366 days or annual multi-trip cover for up to 90 days and 24 hour medical emergency help.

Nationwide and LV= are also providing cover for up to 10 people on one policy in its travel insurance deal, which makes it suitable for families or groups.

Cover is also available for people aged up to 79 years on the travel insurance deal and includes cover for cancellation, delayed departure or curtailment.

Robin Bailey, Nationwide's insurance director, said: "As mutual organisations, both Nationwide and LV= can ensure our customers come first by focusing on price and service to suit their needs."
