Sainsbury's customers who have a Nectar card will get a 25 per cent discount on car insurance when they take out a policy.

Tesco car Insurance is offering a £50 voucher for new customers who get a quote and go on to buy a policy.

Customers have to have a valid Tesco Clubcard to qualify for the offer and should quote shop50 when applying online or over the phone.

The vouchers can be used to buy petro at Tesco petrol stations or in Tesco supermarkets.

Tesco currently offers to two types of comprehensive car insurance cover: Tesco Car Insurance (with extra cover options), and Value Car Insurance (without the extras).
