Sainsbury's extends pet insurance offer

Tuesday, 27 January 2009 05:55

Sainsbury's Pet Insurance has today announced it will be extending its offer of three months' free cover to February 23rd 2009.

The deal applies to new customers, using direct debit, upon renewal of their policy, who will then receive the first three months of the second year for free.

The offer, originally publicised in December 2008, was described as "a bumper deal for pet owners" by a spokesperson for Sainsbury's Finance.

New customers can also take advantage of the promise not to increase the premium in the second year, and the policy can be closed with no cancellation fees.

Sainsbury's pet insurance manager Neal Devine, said: "Many people will have received cats and dogs as Christmas presents and it's essential that they recognise the importance of pet insurance."

In addition, customers who buy online can save 15 per cent, and insuring more than one pet will gain a further five per cent discount.

A wide range of benefits are covered by Sainsbury's pet insurance scheme, including up to £7,500 worth of cover for vets bills, and up to £2,000 for quarantine costs.

Sainsbury's Pet Insurance, a division of Sainsbury's Finance, is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK.
