Churchill: 50% off home insurance

Wednesday, 13 May 2009 12:00

Churchill is reducing buildings and contents insurance by 50 per cent when the two are bought together, it has revealed.

The insurer is also offering free breakdown cover with every car insurance policy from May 1st.

The move comes as households come under increasing financial pressure, said Churchill which wants to help people find ways to cut back.

Martin Scott, head of home insurance, said: "Many people don't realise that in addition to being covered if they are victims of incidents such as floods, a burst water pipe or burglary, they can also add extras such as legal expenses cover.

"[This] could provide cover for legal costs in a wide range of circumstances including employment or redundancy disputes."

Customers taking advantage of the car insurance deal will benefit from breakdown recovery in less than 30 minutes. Work on a vehicle which is made in one of Churchill's repairs centres is guaranteed for five years.

And the policy also includes no claims bonuses for named drivers.
