Free insurance is music to students' ears
Music students are to benefit from free insurance for their musical instrument thanks to a new scheme being promoted by a specialist insurance broker.
Musicians Insurance Services, part of Bryan James & Co, has launched the Budding Maestro scheme for students heading off to college or university to pursue careers in music.
By offering free insurance, the insurer aims to raise awareness amongst music students of the need to insure valuable items.
And it also wants to introduce them to the benefits of an insurance policy specially designed for their needs.
A spokesman for Musicians Insurance Services said: "Leaving home and going to university is always a time of expense and when the move also involves taking an expensive musical instrument away from home as well, those costs can often rocket."
Students embarking on their studies next year will qualify for the Budding Maestro scheme. It is currently being promoted around 2,000 schools in the UK.
