Sheilas' Wheels: Pest removal insurance
Sheilas' Wheels is offering pest removal as part of their home insurance plan for an additional £1.65 per month.
The offer comes after the company's research indicated a third of UK homeowners would remove a wasp or hornet's nest themselves upon discovery. Sheilas' Wheels warns this can be dangerous without the proper equipment or know-how.
"With some nests housing colonies of hundreds of stinging insects, do-it-yourself nest removal should never be attempted by the untrained," said a Shelias' Wheels spokesperson.
The coverage includes a 24-hour helpline to report the problem and receive advice along with professional extermination services from Paragon Pestshield. Normal pest removal can cost up to £100 for a single visit.
"Sheilas' Wheels pest cover offers peace of mind to homeowners that they can receive a fast, professional and reliable pest control service at a low cost," she continued.
"With no regulation in the pest control industry, the risk of calling-out 'cowboy' pest controllers and then being faced with a hefty bill would also be avoided."
Sheilas' Wheels home insurance plan costs £19.99 per year and is available with both building and contents cover.
