Sainsbury's offers pet insurance deal

Wednesday, 02 September 2009 12:00

Sainsbury's is offering three months' free pet insurance for customers buying their policy before October 6th, 2009.

The deal, which means policyholders will not have to pay for the last three months of the first year of the policy, comes with a further 20 per cent discount for people applying online.

And customers will also receive £30 worth of Sainsbury's shopping vouchers if they have not made a claim when they renew their policy.

According to Lucy Hunter, Sainsbury's Pet Insurance Manager, research by the bank shows over 450,000 people have given up their pet insurance in a bid to save money.

She said this could leave them exposed to potentially very high veterinary bills.

"By introducing this offer we are trying to protect pet owners by offering them good cover at an affordable price," she said.
