Bright Grey: More critical illness payouts

Wednesday, 30 September 2009 12:00

Bright Grey revealed that it had paid an increased number of critical illness claims in the first half of this year.

The protection provider, which is part of the Royal London Group, said it paid 90 per cent of claims made, an improvement of seven per cent since it last published figures.

According to its figures, the average payout was almost £80,000.

Roger Edwards, proposition director at Bright Grey, said: "Those claims not paid for non-disclosure, the topic that often attracts significant industry attention, are less than 2.5 per cent.

"This is one of the best in the industry and is much better than others who have a claims book much older than our own."
