Sainsbury's rewards for home insurance

Sainsbury's Finance is reminding customers they will receive double Nectar reward points to spend on shopping for two years when they buy its home insurance.
It is promoting the deal after claims analysis suggested fewer people were taking out home contents insurance policies.
Yet, further research found domestic burglaries rose by 2.8 per cent in the three months to the end of June this year, compared to the same period last year.
Sainsbury's said this made it even more important to have home insurance and also to ensure properties were secure.
Ben Tyte, manger at Sainsbury's home insurance, said: "A rise in burglaries may not be a surprise during a recession but what is alarming is the decrease in theft-related claims over the same period which we fear may indicate fewer people have adequate contents insurance in place."
He added: "The average home insurance claim for theft is currently around £1,370 and in many cases is much higher, which goes to show that if you are not insured, becoming a burglary victim could severely hit your pocket."
Sainsbury's shoppers, who also take out its home insurance policy, will receive double Nectar points which can be used in store, online or in the petrol stations.
It means customers who spend £50 a week at Sainsbury's, and hold the insurance policy, would receive £52 on their Nectar card a year.
