Travel insurance

Friday, 27 February 2009 03:35

Travel insurance provides monetary cover for holidaymakers and other travellers so, if something goes wrong while overseas, they do not lose out financially.

Travel insurance cover levels vary greatly, but generally include medical bills, lost baggage, and delayed or cancelled flights.

Travel insurance can be purchased from an insurance company, but also sometimes comes with a packaged holiday, credit cards and current accounts.

Special travel insurance policies are typically needed for 'more dangerous' activities such as skiing or horse riding, as these activities are often not covered by standard policies.
