Can I add my daughter to my car insurance?

A reader from Bristol wants to add her daughter to her car insurance policy, but just for one month.

Emma Holyer, myfinances.co.uk insurance expert from LV= Insurance, tackles the issue.

Lee from Bristol asks:

Can my 25-year-old daughter be added to my third party car insurance policy for a minimum period of one month?

Emma replies:

You should have no problem adding your daughter to your policy for a month.

Insurance policies are set up to allow you to add temporary drivers or vehicles for anything from a few days up to three months.

You simply need to give your insurer a ring (or speak to your broker if you purchased your insurance through them) to let them know you would like to extend the cover to include your daughter.

They will then tell you what the cost will be.
