Norwich Union opens bereavement helpline

Friday, 22 May 2009 12:00

A bereavement helpline has been launched by Norwich Union to support the families and partners of life insurance customers who have died.

The confidential 24-hour helpline is staffed by qualified bereavement counsellors who are trained to give advice on practical problems as well as provide emotional support.

And the helpline is also available for group life customers who have suffered bereavement themselves.

Pam Stephens, head of group risk at Norwich Union, said: "The death of a loved one can be extremely difficult to cope with and we are committed to helping our Group Life customers' relatives in their time of need.

"The introduction of the bereavement helpline means we can now support their families, not just financially - through prompt settlement of their claim, but also emotionally."
