Tesco: Home insurance vital for movers
Moving house might be stressful, but it provides the perfect opportunity to renew your home insurance, according to Tescocompare.com.
The price comparison website has issued a list of top tips to home movers during the peak season for relocating.
And it is urging people not to forget about their home insurance during the upheaval.
A spokesperson for the website, said: "Many people are complacent when insuring their home, often opting to stay with their current insurer at renewal time, or when they move.
"It's perceived as easier than finding another deal, even though you could be paying more than you need to. The good news is that it doesn't have to be time consuming to see what else is on offer."
Tescocompare.com also suggested, before you move, getting to know your home. Finding out details such as what door locks are installed, whether there's a burglar alarm and whether the property is a listed building will need to be provided to get an insurance quote.
And it also advised home movers to factor in the cost of new purchases when taking out contents insurance, to account for any additional furnishings bought to adorn the new home.
