Cheshire home insurance covers holiday kit

Monday, 15 June 2009 12:00

Cheshire Building Society is helping holidaymakers by offering worldwide cover on items included in its home insurance policy.

The feature, which is optional when taking out the plan, means policyholders heading off on holiday will be insured for accidental loss or damage to belongings they take away with them for up to 60 days.

Karen Torson, product manager at Cheshire, said: "While personal belongings cover away from the home is an additional cost to your home insurance policy, the upside is that you don't need baggage cover when taking out travel insurance, giving you that little bit extra to spend while you are away."

Cheshire home insurance plan is underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance. The level of cover can be tailed to suit each policyholder, meaning they pay for what they need.

There is no extra charge for monthly direct debit payments.
