The policy offers unique benefits aimed at true motoring buffs like nitrous oxide systems and cover for using the track at the Santa Pod's hallowed FIA quarter mile.

The purpose of the car insurance is to protect any type of vehicle including motorcycles, modified cars and off-roaders.

"What we have here is a range of schemes created for enthusiasts, by enthusiasts," said Andy Morton of Santa Pod Insurance Services.

He added: "There's no 'one size fits all' attitude. We'll tailor insurance to our customers' exact requirements, so each policy is as individual as the vehicles they drive."

Santa Pod's offer can be extended to include the trailers and equipment used to transport specialty vehicles to races and events.
