M&S: Pet Insurance with perks

M&S Money is offering a 15 per cent discount on pet insurance to customers who apply for their policies online.

M&S pet insurance policyholders will also benefit from access to a 24-hour advice helpline run by qualified veterinary nurses at Vetfone, the insurer has announced.

According to M&S around 70 per cent of calls to the service are made outside normal veterinary surgery hours, making it "invaluable" to many pet owners whose animals have suffered sudden ailments or accidents.

And this summer has seen plenty of calls to keep the helpline busy.

Steve Price, M&S Money insurance manager, said: "The weather may have been disappointing this summer but it hasn't stopped dogs from suffering the usual seasonal ailments.

"M&S pet insurance policyholders who need urgent advice are able to call on a qualified veterinary expert around the clock."

Features of the plan also include up to £7,000 a year in vets' fees for illness and injury and cover from eight weeks with no upper age limit.

Also, M&S cardholders will earn 250 points when they take out a new policy.
