Anyone on the lookout for car insurance in the near future might want to consider Direct Line, as the company has a special offer that could save customers plenty of money.

Direct Line is offering 52 days' worth of free cover on new car insurance policies and 12 months' protection for the price of nine on home insurance.

The new deals are being offered in a bid to help customers save money at the start of the New Year.

As well as 52 days' free cover when buying a new car insurance plan, customers will also benefit from up to 65 per cent off as a no claims discount, Direct Line said.

And the home insurance deal, which is available on buildings, contents and combined policies, also comes with free home emergency cover call-outs, parts and labour in the event of an emergency.

According to Direct Line the emergencies covered are plumbing, drainage, electrical wiring, security or pest-related.
