Sheila's Wheels moves into travel insurance

Sheila's Wheels has expanded its product range to include travel insurance with the launch of a policy aimed the 'savvy female holidaymaker'.

Standard 'handbag on holiday' cover plus a 'kids-go-free' feature on both single and two-parent family policies are among the benefits of the new insurance package.

It also provides access to a 24-hour helpline to provide support in emergency situations and a 'travel-bag' top up option, which allows extended-trip travellers or people who like to pack more with the option to pay a higher baggage limit.

There is also a wedding cover add-on for policyholders who plan to tie the knot on holiday. Plus, anyone booking online will be entitled to a 10 per cent discount.

Jacky Brown, spokesperson for Sheila's Wheels, described the policy as comprehensive and tailored.

She added: "Traditional travel insurance cover has, until now, remained unisex in its offerings but Sheila's Wheels travel insurance looks to target the savvy, female holidaymaker.

"This is a serious product in the wrappings of an innovative female-focused brand with features that should appeal to the needs and priorities of today's modern woman -whether they are single, a wife, a partner or have a family."

Although targeted at women, the product is also available for men to buy.
