Zurich extends eligibility age for life and critical illness cover

Thursday, 29 April 2010 12:00

Zurich UK Life has announced it is extending the eligibility age for some of its insurance products.

It is increasing the maximum eligibility age for term assurance and critical illness cover to 84 and 74 respectively.

The company is also upping the maximum life insurance term to 50 years.

Gerry Warner, protection development manager at Zurich UK Life, says the changes recognise the fact that Britons now live and work for longer than they used to, which can affect their financial circumstances.

"With that comes evolving financial needs, with many people now having commitments that they want to protect beyond retirement age," he adds.
