Couples 'should think about life insurance'

Thursday, 27 January 2011 05:03

January has been widely reported as the most popular month for divorce as couples aim to go their separate ways and make a fresh start in the new year.

Confused.com is currently reminding consumers to consider their life insurance policies, in addition to more everyday finances such as current accounts, when coming to the end of a relationship or starting one.

Matthew Lloyd, head of life insurance at Confused.com, said: "It's vital that couples talk about life insurance protection as well as how to manage day to day banking and finances."

He added it is also important to consider whether to opt for two single policies or one joint policy.
