Plan currency before travelling to save says Moneysupermarket.com
Planning ahead before making a trip abroad can save Britons up to £9 in every £100 of foreign currency, it has been suggested.
According to Moneysupermarket.com, individuals who opt to exchange their money shortly before a trip - such as at the airport - are missing out in terms of the sum they receive for their sterling.
The consumer website's travel expert Bob Atkinson stated a recent survey indicated that one in five people are keen to get a good deal from their credit card.
He suggested one option for travellers may be the Sainsbury's Gold Credit Card, which offers free overseas withdrawals and fee free transactions.
"Brits who invest a little time in researching the best options before going on holiday will come up trumps in making the most of their money while away," he said.
Mr Atkinson added that savvy travellers will ensure their cash stretches as far as possible by making use of pre-paid cards, credit cards and money.
