Driving warning issued ahead of high-risk accident weekend

Insurer Admiral has urged motorists to take special care on the roads this weekend as the two dates that are historically worst for accidents roll around again.
According to its records, December 17th and 18th are the two days of the year when crashes and mishaps are most likely to occur, something that could be magnified this year with snow hitting Britain and it also being the last full shopping weekend before Christmas.
Admiral managing director Dave Halliday said it could be that drivers have a lot on their minds as they get behind the wheel and are not concentrating properly.
"We just want to remind people to take care on the road whatever the day or date," he added.
Earlier this month, MoneySupermarket.com urged people not to drink and drive, pointing that it could not only put lives at risk, but also cause insurance premiums to soar by up to 85 per cent.
