Aviva offers discounts for home and car insurance

Aviva is offering a series of discounts for people who take out a car or home insurance policy with the provider.

For new customers buying online with at least four years' worth of no claims, there is 15 weeks' free car insurance, while those purchasing policies over the phone will get ten weeks of cover for free.

Aviva's MultiCar system also means that people insuring a second vehicle can get a discount of a third off the policy price.

Meanwhile, for new customers buying home insurance online, savings of up to 50 per cent can be achieved if the property has been claim-free for five years.

Anyone buying home insurance over the phone can get 35 per cent off with proof of five years of no claims.

Furthermore, Aviva will also apply discounts for those who already have one policy with the insurer and then take out another.

Aviva currently has some 14 million customers in the UK and is the world's sixth largest insurance group.
