Hastings Direct car insurance given Defaqto 5 star rating

Hastings Direct has been awarded the top five stars from Defaqto for its motor insurance products.
A Defaqto star rating reflects the quality of a financial product, helping consumers to make a more informed decision about which product best suits their needs.
The ratings process involves assessing 47 different features and benefits of comprehensive motor insurance policies and scoring each from one to five.
They reflect the range and level of features and benefits offered by each product, not its price.
Hastings Direct is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers of insurance products offering car, van, bike and home cover.
Chris Hawkes, commercial manager at Hastings Direct, said: “Where two drivers of the same age with the same car will often have completely different price points as so many other risk factors come into play, it’s great to have a simple, reliable way to demonstrate the quality our policies offer.”
At the start of the year, the insurer celebrated selling its one millionth policy and was named Personal Lines Broker of the Year in December 2011.
