Land Rover drivers ‘most likely to break the speed limit’

A quarter of Land Rover Discovery HSE V6 TD owners have been caught exceeding the statutory speed limit on a public road, new analysis reveals.
According to claims data from Confused.com, one in five BMW 320 DM Sport owners and a fifth of Ford S-Max Titanium TDCI drivers have also broken the speed limit.
Drivers of the Ford Galaxy Zetec TDI, BMW XSI Sport and Volkswagen Polo E60, meanwhile, are most likely to have been caught for the use of a handheld device while driving, the figures suggest.
However, drivers of the Vauxhall Astra Edition 16V Coupe are most likely to have been caught uninsured in the past, the comparison site’s study shows.
Motorway speeders include Range Rover Sport and Porsche Boxster drivers, while Audi A3 Quattro drivers tend to be the top traffic light jumpers, the insurer said.
Gareth Kloet, head of car insurance at Confused.com, said: “Our research has shown that driving legally is clearly a challenge to a significant proportion of drivers.
“Keeping on the right side of the law will obviously help to not only minimise the cost of your insurance but also help keep you on the road and keep the roads safe.”
