Post Office life insurance

Wednesday, 09, May 2007 12:00

Life insurance is a relatively new product to be introduced by Post Office. You can choose from a single or joint policy, for mutual added protection, and are free to choose exactly how much and how long you would like your cover.

Post Office life insurance starts from just £5 a month and comes in two main types:

  • level term life insurance that offers a fixed lump sum payout that protects your family, their lifestyle and financial futures
  • decreasing term life insurance is a cheaper alternative that specifically runs alongside your mortgage, so your cover and premiums fall as your mortgage repayments do

Also on offer is lifestyle cover to protect whatever your needs dictate should you be off work for up to a year.

For over 50s there is a special life insurance plan that could make life easier for the family you leave behind, helping to pay funeral expenses and remaining debts.
