Young driver car insurance

Insurance costs for young drivers are notoriously high and the cost has been increasing in the last few years. It is something that young drivers have to suffer to begin with until they build up a no-claims bonus.

There are lots of ways that a young driver can reduce the cost of insurance by a little. Having a standard car that has no additions to it, living in a crime free area and parking your vehicle in a garage and low mileage are all factors that will reduce the cost to a certain degree.

If you are a new driver or are under 21 (or in some cases 25) you will be considered a greater risk to an insurance company. Lack of experience and statistics showing young drivers have more accidents and suffer more from thefts and fires mean premiums are universally high for newcomers.

The most important aspect is to build up your policy history, drive carefully and avoid making any claims.
