The FTSE closed down 0.03 per cent today after making up morning losses.

July retail sales up

Retail sales maintain growth

Data out today show July sales were up 0.8 per cent, while they rose 3.9 per cent on a year ago.

The FTSE 100 was down 0.62 per cent this morning at 9:52 BST.

1,700 jobs safeguarded by £2bn MOD/BAE deal

MoD signs munitions deal securing UK jobs

BAE Systems has signed a £2 billion deal with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) which will safeguard some 1,700 jobs.
