Friends Provident unveils new funds

Friday, 14 August 2009 12:00

Friends Provident has launched new investment funds created to appeal to a variety of investors - whether they like risk or prefer to play it safe.

The three funds aim to produce returns for their investors by benefiting from volatility but all have different ways of doing so.

The CAAM Volatility Equities Fund uses volatility - or unstable equity markets -as an active source of performance and aims to get the best exposure to these markets over one year to achieve returns.

The JPM Highbridge Statistical Market Neutral Fund, aims to achieve long-term absolute returns in all market conditions. It neutralises the risk associated with stock market investing making it slightly less risky.

And the JPM Global Capital Preservation Fund invests in securities, or bonds, which are traditionally a more safe form of investment.

Jim Henning, funds marketing and research manager at Friends Provident, said: "These new investment-linked fund options are designed to appeal to a range of investors from the risk averse through to the more sophisticated risk-seeking investor."
