Monday, 05 October 2009 12:00

Interactive Investor is offering its Portfolio Builder share service for free until June 30, 2010, it announced today.

The online stockbroker and fund supermarket said, to take advantage of free trading service, investors needed simply to select one of four monthly dates on which to invest.

And then investors will be able to purchase shares on a regular basis free of charge.

According to Interactive Investor, the service is ideal to people who are new to investing in equities because it is easy to use and had cost saving benefits.

Rebecca O'Keeffe, head of investment at the firm, added: "It is also perfect for those who want to build up core holdings in particular stocks, whilst retaining the ability to trade real-time as well."

She explained that the service was very flexible and investors could control where and how they invested at any time by stopping or starting the plan.

They could also suspend monthly payments if they had other financial commitments, Ms O'Keeffe explained.

The Portfolio Builder can also be used in an ISA or Self Invested Personal Pension (Sipp).
